Music from The Mighty Pines!

If you ate today, you can thank a farmer.
Join us as we bring together farmers, musicians, chefs, and eaters together to raise awareness of the importance of supporting local farms and healthy soil. American family farmers and ranchers are enduring the worst economic slide in generations, and therefore we need Congress to pass a Farm Bill in 2018 that will strengthen our independent and family farmers. The Missouri Farmers Union and Missouri Coalition for the Environment are calling on Congress to strengthen programs that support family farm agriculture, vibrant rural communities, a clean environment, and hungry Americans. In the week following Earth Day, along with EarthDance and Pickin’ on Music Festivals, we’ll be making stops across Missouri on the Farmers United Tour, and invite you to enjoy a farm-fresh dinner and live music by The Mighty Pines in support of local farms and healthy soil. We’ll share how you can both vote with your fork and advocate for policy that supports the good food movement.

EarthDance operates an Organic Farm School on the site of the oldest organic farm west of the Mississippi. Based on a 14 acre farm in Ferguson, Missouri, the non-profit organization works at the intersection of healthy food production, farm-based education and community empowerment. With a vision of connecting more eaters and farmers alike to the soul of our soil, EarthDance facilitates delicious farm-based experiences with meaning. By convening chefs, musicians, farmers, and like-minded organizations to create a movement-building tour, we aim to promote family farms, healthy soil, and local food, and raise awareness of pesticide drift.
